Vinyl Junkies: Adventures in Record Collecting by Brett Milano, Not too far away from the flea markets, dusty attics, cluttered used record stores and Ebay is the world of the vinyl junkies. Brett Milano dives deep into the piles of old vinyl to uncover the subculture of record collecting. A vinyl junkie is not the person who has a few old 45s shoved in the cuboard from their days in high school. Vinyl Junkies are the people who will travel over 3,000 miles to hear a rare b-side by a German band that has only recorded two songs since 1962, vinyl junkies are the people who own every copy of every record produced by the favorite artist from every pressing and printing in existance, vinyl junkies are the people who may just love that black plastic more than anything else in their lives. Brett Milano traveled the U.S. seeking out the most die-hard and fanatical collectors to capture all that it means to be a vinyl junkie. Includes interviews with Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth, Peter Buck from R.E.M and Robert Crumb, creator of Fritz the cat and many more underground comics.
Martha Stewart's New Old House: Restoration, Renovation, Decoration, Landscaping by Martha Stewart, Martha Stewart has always loved old houses, and much of her life has been devoted to making them livable again. From her first renovation - the reclaiming of a 19th-century schoolhouse - to the complex restoration of her Federal-style farmhouse on Turkey Hill, Martha has endeavored to "remove the unsightly and replace it with the beautiful." She often wished she had kept a complete record of her restoration efforts, so when the old Adams homestead in Connecticut became available, she decided not only to buy it and restore it, but also to record the experience. Martha Stewart's New Old House is the renovation journal Martha always wanted to keep. From the initial inspection of the historic but sadly "down-at-the-heels" Adams house to its completion as Martha's dream home, Martha Stewart's New Old House is the step-by-step story of exactly how she makes an old house "new." This uniquely personal account guides homeowners (and would-be homeowners) through one of the most exciting and challenging projects they will ever undertake the restoration, renovation, and decoration of an old house. Reshingling the roof, rebuilding the foundation, repointing the chimneys, stripping the exterior for painting, framing new walls, installing a heating and cooling system, stripping wallpaper and paint, installing drywall, refinishing floors, restoring millwork - Martha explains it all, allowing the homeowner to work with the contractor and crew more effectively. Once the renovation of the Adams house was completed, Martha invited a talented group of designers and artisans to decorate the rooms. Here they explain their visions for the design and give step-by-step instructions for decorative techniques: marbleizing, designing a tile floor, painting a faux carpet, creating a trompe l'oeil wall mural - special touches that make a truly spectacular home.
Sole Unlimited Distribution - Sole Unlimited Distribution is a vinyl record distribution company founded by Chicago techno producer Frankie Vega in 2001 to distribute records exclusively for Dust Traxx Records in Chicago. Sole Unlimited specializes in directly contacting local record stores through in-house salesmen and playing tracks over the phone rather than selling through industry wide catalog base distributors. Dust Traxx Records - Dust Traxx Records is a Chicago based House music record label founded in 1997 by Radoslaw "Radek" Hawryszczuk. The label began by Radek selling bootleg mixed tapes off tables at raves in Chicago, progressing into the world's largest distributor of House music on vinyl records within 10 years under the leadership of its Chief Financial Officer, Chuck Paugh, through Dust Traxx's own in-house distribution company Sole Unlimited Distribution. DFA Records - DFA Records is an independent record label that was launched in 2002 by producers Tim Goldsworthy, James Murphy and financed by bubble wrap heir Tyler Brodie. Begun on a series of 12" single vinyl releases starting with The Rapture's "House of Jealous Lovers," the label has grown steadily since, inking distribution deals with EMI/Capitol and Astralwerks, and releasing a handful of full-length albums by its ever-growing roster of artists. Gramophone record - A gramophone record, (also vinyl record, phonograph record, LP record, or simply record) is an analogue sound recording medium: a flat disc rotating at a constant angular velocity, with inscribed spiral grooves in which a stylus or needle rides (Very early in the history of the medium, cylinders with helical grooves were used instead of discs). Analogue audio recording onto a disc was the main technology used for the storing of recorded sound for most of the 20th century.

Hilary Rosen, the RIAA's president and chief executive officer from 1988 to 2003, was an outspoken critic of peer to peer file sharing, and under her direction, the RIAA has sought to protect its members' interests by political lobbying for changes in copyright and criminal law, and by litigation under existing laws.
